Sharon Lee Nicoson Memorial

Sharon Lee Nicoson Memorial Page

Sharon Lee Nicoson, 69, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018, in Naples, Florida. She was born August 21, 1948, in Terre Haute to Betty Lou (Hills) Jones and Delmar Lee Jones.

Sharon was a lifelong learner who valued education and experiences. She was a 1966 graduate of Garfield High School. After a year at St. Mary-of-the-Woods, she attended Indiana State University where she received degrees in English and Spanish, and later, a master's degree in Librarian Science and a master's degree in Computer Science.

On May 4, 1968, she married her husband, Steve Nicoson. She was an amazing mother to her daughter Kim Howenstine and son Matt Nicoson and his wife, Brook.

She explored several careers in her life, from teaching English at Honey Creek Junior High and the Alternative School, to being a co-owner of The Farmer's Daughter with her lifelong friend Sue Treadway, to managing E-Z Systems, an off shoot of her family's business, Jones Tool and Machine. But probably her most precious, treasured role was grandmother. She was devoted to granddaughters, Lucy, 19, Ruby, 10, and Molly, 7. Her love for them and their love for her was nourishment for her soul.

Her passions were varied and many, and she was always up for trying something new. She had accomplished her goal of visiting every continent, and had only six states left to visit. She was a voracious reader, and loved the challenges of puzzles and games. She loved golf, pickle ball, and a good video poker machine.
